Pink Mini

I had to read up a bit on this one and I found that its size and scale needed a different set of setup specs than I usually use.  It was not playable out of the box as string heights and bridge saddle positions were not close.  Also came with 9's, which (as I found out from other people's setup info) should be replaced with heavier gauge strings to help compensate for extra string travel associated with short scale guitars. But, the directive was to give it my best shot with the 9's....so....I crept up on lowering the strings both at the nut and at the 17th to get them lower and intonated properly.  It was slow going, but I did manage to get there using small incremental adjustments at both ends of the neck.  It will not be mistaken for an American or even a MIM version of its standard length brothers and sisters, but it does play nicely and as in tune as the (really cut rate) tuners will allow.  What I learned from setting this little guitar up has been valuable, if for no other reason than to have guidelines for any other short scale guitars that might come along.
