The 3d printed body of this guitar was completed in 1.5 weeks as a "wth, let's see if this can work" project that came to me as a completed body, a tele hardware and electronics kit, and an import tele neck in a shopping bag. Not one to back down from something different and (IMHO) cool looking, I put it together and strung it up. To my delight, it set up and held nicely, but the big surprise came after I plugged it in. It sounded great when played clean, and even better when coaxed through the pedal board and encouraged to growl.
This guitar is cool looking and will get comments from everyone that sees it.
While the neck pocket piece is carbon fiber reinforced, and the control section is a more dense form of plastic material, the overall body is somewhat flexible and probably not suited for gig work in this state. The design does have provisions for two carbon fiber rods for extra support. It intonated perfectly, and stays in tune nicely, and with the extra reinforcement, could make it more road worthy. Overall, I am greatful to have had the opportunity to help create something cool and outside the lines.
